Oh, good question. I imagine he would get to see it at some point. As Grantaire basically moves in after they get back from the wedding, he would leave it around Enjolras’s flat at various points. Enjolras would look at it and feel ~conflicted~ and want to look but also /privacy/ and so he’d be super frustrated.
Eventually he would look at it, because he just can’t help himself any more, and there would be so many pictures of Enjolras in it, but also of people they work with, and Cosette and Marius when they came to visit, and Gavroche, who somehow managed to get across the country to see them without anyone knowing how…
And Grantaire would appear in the doorway behind him when he’s looking and just sort of lean there, amused, because he thinks it’s adorable that Enjolras is trying to be sneaky and looking. Then he’d cough pointedly and Enjolras would jump like a startled cat and throw the sketch book onto the coffee table like ‘I WASN’T LOOKING’ and Grantaire would be like ‘right’.
And then Enjolras would just sort of flail and be hopeless and have all these ~feelings~ from the pictures and just blurt out ‘I love you’ and Grantaire - who already said those three words months ago and never expected to hear them back - just cocks his head and smiles and says ‘Well it’s about time’.
(It’s a while later that Enjolras finds the one with Grantaire’s naked sketches in it)
PS was open, so…
i want to write the kind of short stories you read in english class that are on this weird level of surrealism that they still haunt you years down the road
